Dartagnan Whole Duck

The Pekin duck is often called the Long Island duck because of the early proliferation of Pekin breeders in that area of New York. This large duck is a favorite for roasting whole, especially in the Peking style. Its meat is lighter with a milder flavor than either Moulard or Muscovy duck. D’Artagnan works with family farms that follow strict protocols for humane animal husbandry and raise the ducks in spacious barns with plenty of space, natural light and air. They eat a diet of corn and soybean meal, with clean drinking water always available. No hormones or antibiotics are ever administered.
